Frank Koch Elected LIWC Chair
Garden City superintendent of water and sewer has been active with the LIWC for more than 12 years.
Malverne resident Frank Koch, Garden City's superintendent of water and sewer, has been elected chair of the Long Island Water Conference (LIWC).
Koch has been active in the LIWC for more than 12 years, previously serving as first vice chairman, according to an LIWC press release.
“It is a tremendous honor to be elected chairman,” Koch said in the release. “The Water Conference is dedicated to providing Long Island with some of the highest quality drinking water throughout the entire United States, and we will continue to support our members who provide this essential service to every household throughout Long Island at the lowest cost in the nation.”
Koch, who lives in Malverne with his wife, Kelly, holds a professional engineering license and a water plant operator IB license in the State of New York. He earned a B.S. in civil engineering from Manhattan College. His early experience was in maritime engineering both as an officer on private commercial shipping vessels and as an engineer, designing and planning shipping terminals in growing countries, according to the release.
Koch started his career with the village as an engineer responsible for the design, construction and completion of capital projects. He has been superintendent of water and sewer for 12 years.
“I am very proud to serve the Village of Garden City,” Koch said in the release. “This is the village’s water system and all of the residents are shareholders. They understand the importance of clean water and are very protective of their resource.”
