Snowy Saturday Forecasted For Malverne-West Hempstead
National Weather Service predicts up to 3 inches could fall in the area this weekend.
Malverne Mel's forecast for a Giants Super Bowl victory was mostly right. (He predicted they'd win by 3 points, so he was only off by 1.) And now it looks like his weather prognosis of six more weeks of winter is also on-point.
Snow is expected to fall in Malverne and West Hempstead Friday night and continue throughout most of Saturday. It'll start out as a mix of rain and snow, switching to purely snow around 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Most of the snow will fall before 4 p.m. Saturday, when the neighborhood could be blanketed with up to 3 inches, according to the forecast. There's a 30 percent chance we'll see some snow showers Saturday night before 1 a.m. and also flurries before noon Sunday.
