Here's some good news for West Hempstead's local economy - three new businesses have recently opened on Hempstead Turnpike. On Saturday, the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce will be holding back-to-back-to-back ribbon-cuttings at Hats Off Restaurant (205 Hempstead Tpk.), KW Kitchens (207 Hempstead Tpk.) and Sam's Caribbean Marketplace (225 Hempstead Tpk.) between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The chamber is encouraging all local residents to come out to "celebrate the new economic resurgence of Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead" and support these businesses. Be on the lookout for these animals in local businesses.
It looks like a stampede of rams has escaped West Hempstead High School and is on the loose in the local business district. Ofcourse, we don't mean actual horned beasts, but rather some creative wooden cut-outs featuring the West Hempstead school district's mascot. West Hempstead High School Art students worked with the Beautification Committee of the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce to craft these Rams, which were on display at West Hempstead SHINES last month. After the event, the Chamber reached out to its members and some agreed to place them in their local businesses to foster community involvement and pride for the schools. You can find them at Venus Restaurant, Phoenix Wellness Center, Riesterer's Bakery, and the West Hempstead …
